25 years ago in Bristol, England, my husband Greg and I worked together in his shop, Neals Yard Remedies, selling natural remedies and cosmetics. We were both student homoeopaths with a shared passion for things natural and organic.

Our commitment to purity and healing has deepened over time. 10 years ago we moved from Bath to beautiful South Devon where our love of herbs, wild food and wild things has deepened and grown along with our discernment of synthetic additives of any kind.

A life-time of dry skin and increasing dissatisfaction with shop-bought face creams (as well as a growing belief in my ability to “do it myself”) led me to start making my own products 5 years ago. Armed with some helpful books and my memories of the Make Your Own section in Neals Yard Remedies, I started on this rewarding journey. 

As friends starting asking me to make creams for them, my business grew by popular demand. Along the way I have had to learn the science and art of making creams, as every subtle detail of the process can dramatically effect the end result. There have been plenty of mistakes! I have loved learning how to make these beautiful products and my reward is the wonderful feedback and encouragement I have had along the way from my customers. 

We have 6 daughters and 2 sons and I was very motivated when my older daughters started buying mainstream skin care products full of a myriad of toxic chemicals. I wanted to help them to be discerning about what they put on their skin and learn how to make their own products. They are all avid fans and some now make their own toothpaste and shampoo.
